How to: Add shortcut to application (send to)

How to do:

To get to the SendTo folder, you'll need to open up an Explorer window

  1. Paste in the following to the address bar: “%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo”
  2. Open another window with the exe-file you want to have access to (e.g. Notepad++)
  3. Drag a shortcut of this exe-file into the “SendTo” folder (step 1)

Voila!
It will appear in your right click menu in Windows Explorer.

Update:
I just today discovered that you can do the same by simply typing: “shell:sendto” in a Windows Explorer.

VSS: Disabling the annoying .root folder in Visual SourceSafe

Using VSS 2005 for projects of more private character, I’ve been annoyed completely by VSS’s notion of creating it’s own “root-folder” (<projectname>.root) in projects in VSS. The consequence is that there is not a 1:1 match between VSS and your harddisk. And this is really a thing that is nice to have when managing projects.

Luckily it can be quite easy disabled (after having googled the matter!):

You need to go into registry and change this key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\SourceControl] "DoNotCreateSolutionRootFolderInSourceControl"=dword:00000001

Change the value 0 –> 1.

You do not need to restart anything. VSS will pick it up next time you add a solution to it.

Windows 7 activation: DNS error

I today attempted to perform an activation of Windows 7 (RTM). This resulted in an errormessage:
”Actication was unsuccesful. DNS error”.

The easy solution is basically just to change product key of the installation and activation is working fine.

InRiver: Not loading your extensions?

(You really need to in the loop to appreciate the issue this post addresses). Man, I've been fighting this problem for hours before I ...
